Are you getting all you want out of life or do you need to make getting rid of destructive thoughts a new year resolution?

If you want to achieve your dreams and get all you want in life you have to give up negative thinking. Persistant destructive thoughts will  bring you down and make you feel insecure.

There is no real science behind this attitude of destructive thought; however, some studies reveal that optimistic people have healthier lives.

It’s normal to doubt certain areas in your life. Things don’t always pan out that way you hoped they would, and you’re bound to make mistakes along the way.

But this doesn’t necessarily mean that you always have to think of the worst outcome all the time. Many of us prepare for a bad outcome in everything we do. A better approach would be to have faith and keep believing in ourselves.

To avoid awkward circumstances, you come up with a number of excuses as to why you shouldn’t engage in a certain situation. These excuses act like your prison until you hinder yourself from fully experiencing anything that could improve your life.

You have to realize that everyone needs to try out new things for them to fully grow. Life doesn’t hand you instant happiness in a silver platter.  You have to work at it and push yourself a bit further. Instead of taking big leaps, move forward with small steps.

Another important thing you must do is to stop thinking about your recent run-in with bad luck. You think that the only way to stop disappointments is to not think about things working out. This hampers your level of excitement, and less excited people are just more likely to perform poorly.

Stop subconsciously telling yourself that you can never be happy. This is a classic case of self-fulfilling prophecy. The more you expect things to work against you, the more likely they will because your actions will likely be influenced by your negativity. Keep believing in yourself if you want to achieve your dreams.

While you work your way up the ladder of success, you are so careful not to step on anyone’s toes. While this is a very healthy attitude, you sometimes become too afraid about imposing something on someone else.

You become fearful of inconveniencing and offending others that you lock yourself in one place for too long. This might make someone else feel uncomfortable, but that isn’t reason enough for you to not go for your desires. Just remember that as long as you are not lying, cheating, breaking the law, or carelessly causing someone pain, you owe it to yourself to live your life to the fullest.

Things usually happen for a reason, so you can make fate work for you by believing that you are always given the opportunity to better your life. If you want something badly enough, the rewards of taking the chance outweigh the hindrances that come with it. You just need to keep the ball rolling until you’ll see that the world actually works for you.

This new year make it one of your resolutions to get rid of destructive thoughts and practice the art of positive thinking.

Women’s Health- How To Improve Your Mental Well Being

As a woman, you know what it’s like to be over-scheduled. You know what it’s like to give to and care of others more than you do for yourself. You know what it’s like to put yourself last because someone who depends on you needs your time.

You know what it’s like to work hard all day and come home to take care of responsibilities at home, too. Or you work hard at home all day and still your work doesn’t end just because the sun sets.

Being on emotional and psychological overload has become a way of life for many women. They are strong and they can handle a lot, but sometimes in the cycle, they often lose sight of the fact that that in order to keep giving to those they love or doing what they love, they have to recharge, they have to center themselves again.

The following seven tips can help you improve your mental well being and you’ll discover that when you feel better mentally, you feel better all over.

Tip #1 – If you’re overextended, ask for help. If you feel like a mouse chasing the cheese and the cheese keeps four steps ahead of you, then you’re doing too much. It’s normal to want to handle responsibilities without wanting to ask for help. But when you’re too busy, that can lead to feelings of stress or burning out.

Tip #2 – Get rid of negativity. If you have relationships that are bad for you, it’s time to cut ties. Surround yourself with positive people – people who will nourish you and support you. Let go of past emotional hurts and anything that ties you to a negative experience.

Tip #3 – Just STOP! As a woman, you’re so busy, so on the go that you never just stop and do nothing. Even on days off, you’re busy doing something that you feel has to be taken care of. Give yourself time to stop. Take off – be unavailable to everyone but you. Meditate, get involved in yoga or something else that relaxes you.

Tip #4 – Take part in activities that you enjoy. We often let go of what we enjoy doing. We push it off to the side because we don’t feel we have the time. Make time for the activities you love.

Tip #5 – Physical health, including rest and exercise, is closely tied in to mental well being. Make sure that you’re taking care of yourself through eating right, getting plenty of rest and exercising.

Tip #6 – Unload your burdens. Don’t carry around stress inside. We all need an outlet to talk about the things that bother or upset us. Talk to your friends, a therapist, or even use a journal to get out the things that give you a heavy mental load.

Tip #7 – Live your passion. If you feel stuck or you feel like life is passing you by – or this isn’t what you signed up for, change it. It’s never too late to chase a passion you have. You might not be able to pack up and move to Paris today if that’s your dream, but take smaller steps to reach that goal if that’s what you want.

Improve Your Health Right Now With These 5 Habits

Mineral water being poured from a bottle into ...

When you vow to improve your health you don’t have to instantly become a gym-addict or stop eating everything you love. It really comes down to incorporating healthy habits into your daily routine. Here are five habits that’ll set you off on a new healthy path.

1) Drink More Water

Drinking water will improve your health for so many reasons! For one, if you’re trying to lose weight then it’s a lot easier if you drink water: (a) because it’ll stop you drinking sugary, calorie-laden drinks and (b) because we often mistake dehydration for hunger, causing us to overeat.

Experts recommend that you should be drinking eight glasses of water a day. This may sound difficult, but it really isn’t. Start by getting into the habit of drinking a full glass of water as soon as you wake up in the morning. It’ll help you feel more awake and more hydrated after the long night’s sleep. And it’ll get you off on the right foot for drinking enough water throughout the day.

2) Get Enough Sleep

These days, very few of us actually get the sleep we need. When you don’t get enough sleep, you’re more prone to stress, unhealthy snacking, and turning to caffeine to keep you alert! This really isn’t good for your health.

We’re all different when it comes to how many hours of sleep we need each night. Adults need less and less sleep the older they get. The magic number for you probably lies somewhere in between seven and ten hours a night. Experts also agree that having a routine is crucial when it comes to getting enough sleep. Try to go to bed at the same time every night. Then, if it only happens every now and again, you won’t feel so many negative effects of a late night.

3) Walk More

If you really want to improve your health then start walking every day. A walk doesn’t just help you get more exercise, it’s also good for the soul! When you walk you’re getting fresh air and spending time away from the usual stresses of everyday life. Walking gives you time to think, and time to clear your head of anything that’s bothering you.

There are a few ways to get more walks into your daily routine. One idea is to go for a 30 minute walk on your lunch break each day. Or you could start walking short distances (under 2 miles) where you’d normally drive. You could even start taking stairs instead of elevators. Anything that boosts the physical activity you’re doing each day will help!

4) Stretch

Try starting each day with a real stretching session. Stretching feels good, and is an excellent way to wake yourself up in the morning by getting your blood flowing. The Mayo Clinic states that stretching can also help to improve your athletic ability and reduce the risk of injury when you exercise. You could take this one step further and incorporate yoga stretches into your routine. You’ll find that your posture improves, you feel more healthy, and focusing becomes easier.

5) Relax

No matter how much you exercise or watch your diet, you won’t truly improve your health until you learn how to relax! Getting stressed, anxious and angry about things only lowers your immune system and makes you more vulnerable to a whole range of health complications (both physical and mental). Learn to take some time for you. Try getting regular massages, attending a yoga class, learning how to meditate, or unwinding with regular relaxing baths!
